General Electronics & IT Diagnostic Service

Flat Fee: $50

In-Person, Remote, Pickup, or Drop-Off Options Available

Before any repair, tune-up, or technical work can begin, we must determine what the actual issue is. Our diagnostic service provides a clear, professional assessment of the device or system so you know exactly what needs to be done next — and what it will cost.

What the Diagnostic Includes

Our technicians perform a structured evaluation to identify the root cause of the problem. This applies to most consumer and business electronics, including:

• Laptops and desktop computers

• Cell phones and tablets

• Game consoles and gaming accessories

• Printers and office equipment

• Keyboards, mice, and peripherals

• Network devices (modems, routers, switches)

• Smart devices and specialty electronics (case-by-case)

This service does not repair the device — it determines what’s wrong so you can make an informed decision.

You will receive a diagnostic report with:

• A description of the issue

• Our findings and test results

• Recommended next steps

• Estimated repair costs (if repair is possible)

Service Options

In-Person Drop-Off — Cambridge Office

• Same-day to 24-hour turnaround

• You will be contacted once your diagnostic report is ready

• Appointment required, MSA must be signed before work begins

Pickup & Drop-Off Across Massachusetts

• Additional fee based on distance

• Devices transported securely and logged upon intake

Remote Diagnostic (Where Applicable)

• Software-based issues can often be evaluated remotely

• No physical shipping required

Payment & Agreement Requirements

To ensure accurate, professional service:

• $50 diagnostic fee must be paid before the appointment is confirmed

• A Master Service Agreement (MSA) must be signed before diagnostics or work begins

• Your appointment is not final until both payment and the MSA are completed

If you proceed with repair or service afterward, the $50 diagnostic fee is applied toward the final cost.

Common Issues That Require Diagnostics

Customers typically request diagnostics when experiencing:

• Computer running slow or not turning on

• Phones not charging, boot looping, or shutting down

• Game systems overheating, freezing, or not displaying

• Printers not connecting or refusing to print

• Network/WiFi issues at home or in small offices

• Previous technician performed incomplete or incorrect repairs

• Unknown cause of failure after a power surge or software update

If you’re unsure what’s wrong — diagnostics is the correct first step.
